BELLINGHAM - Cleator Road at Larrabee State Park will be closed for about three weeks starting Monday, Oct. 3, for construction.

The $113,000 project will include widening Cleator where a slide destroyed a section of it in 2009, according to a news release from Washington Parks and Recreation Commission.

The road will be closed except to emergency vehicles during construction, so park visitors and nearby homeowners must use alternate routes. The work is being paid for with disaster funding approved by the Federal Emergency Management Administration for widespread flooding in January 2009.
