A new series of walks, put together by Downtown on the Go, will start Friday at noon.
The Fall Walking Series starts at Tacoma’s Wright Park and will weave through the Stadium District. The walk, starting near the white lions on Sixth Avenue, will include a presentation on the history of Metro Parks Tacoma.
Here is the rest of the schedule:
Oct. 7: Brewery District to south downtown. Walk with local architect David Boe and hear about the architectural history in this area. Start in front of the Swiss Building.
Oct. 14: South Waterfront to Tacoma Dome Station. This will be a brief walk through the South Waterfront. Meet in front of Union Station, and return via the Link.
Oct. 21: North Waterfront to Theater District. Experience the past, present and future of Tacoma along this walk in the heart of downtown. Participants will hear about Tacoma’s arts and culture scene. Meet at the corner of Broadway and Ninth streets.
Oct. 28: Downtown to Hilltop. Take this walk through Tacoma’s oldest neighborhood. Meet in front of the Woolworth Building on 11th and Broadway streets.
