WCC WOMEN'S SOCCER: Whatcom shuts out Tacoma

The Whatcom Community College women's soccer team defeated Tacoma Community College 1-0 in NWAACC action on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Orca Field.

The win improved the Orcas to 3-1-1.

Tia Brogna scored the game's lone goal after she dribbled through several Tacoma defenders. Allison Holterman was in goal for the shutout for Whatcom.

"The girls got it done," Whatcom coach Claire Morgan said in a phone interview. "I was happy with how they found a way to win even when we weren't playing our best."

The Orcas open NWAACC North Division play when they host Bellevue at noon on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Orca Field.
