Taylor Lunde and Anna Pimento recorded a goal and an assist each and the Meridian girls' soccer team defeated Lynden 4-0 in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, Sept. 15, at Bender Field.

Lunde and Randi Donahue each had a goal in the first half, while Pimento and Sara Dougan added a pair of goals the first five minutes of the second half. Lynden had nine shots on goal for the match to Meridian's six, but were unable to capitalize on any.

"We continue to not hit the mark," Lynden coach Joe Gonzalez said in a phone interview. "If we do we'll be able to compete well, we just can't seem to get into a groove. We are trying to grow and it's a process. We just have to get all our girls to buy into our system of play."

Since defeating Mount Baker by four goals on Sept. 8 the Lions have lost each of their next three games, with two of them being NWC contests. Meridian ended a two-match losing skid with the victory.

The Trojans host Sehome their next match, while Lynden travels to Lynden Christian. Both play at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20.
