Dick Stark, 77, has a four-decade career in broadcasting, mostly at 1170 KPUG AM and KAFE 104.1 FM, and says he had "great fun" broadcasting football and basketball games, including more than 40 years of Western Washington University games.

"I just have a great love for basketball," he says. "I like everything about it, from the coaches to the players, the strategy and the fans."

What he does: Stark helped start the Boys and Girls Club in Bellingham decades ago and is still involved with the organization. He's also active at Bellingham Bay Rotary Club, Bellingham Wheel and Keel club and Birchwood Presbyterian Church.

What's next: He plans to broadcast basketball, stay active as a church elder, travel and go boating.

Why he loves broadcasting basketball: "Having played myself, I feel I can give a pretty good description of what's going on out there. To put it simply, I don't look it as a job; it's just plain fun, and I'm blessed to be a part of it."
