BELLINGHAM - The Ridge Wine Bar is staying open but will be making some changes in the coming days, including a name change.

The bar, 1017 N. State St., will close for remodeling until Sept. 8, while it is "shifting its focus away from wine," said owner Jenny Schwartz in a press release. She plans to offer a better selection of local beer but will still offer wine.

In light of the new direction, the bar will announce its new name next week.

Schwartz is also looking to update the menu and to offer outdoor seating.
