BELLINGHAM - Four Bellingham businesses had rocks thrown through their windows over the weekend, causing more than $2,000 in damage, police said.

On Saturday morning, Aug. 27, three businesses in the 1600 block of North State Street were discovered vandalized by apparent rock throwers, said Bellingham Police spokesman Mark Young. An estimated total of $1,300 in damage was done to Quality Rentals, Cascade Vocational Services and Erickson Interiors.

The following night, a person called police after hearing glass shattering at 99 Cent Max in the 1500 block of Birchwood Avenue, Young said. About $1,000 in damage was done to the store.

Police have not named any suspects.
