BELLINGHAM - A 22-year-old Bellingham man died in a single-car crash early Sunday, Aug. 28, after his Acura Integra struck a tree in south Bellingham.

About 3:30 a.m., Aushmendra Nath was driving north in the 2100 block of 33rd Street when he crashed into the tree, causing "significant damage" to the car, said Bellingham Police spokesman Mark Young.

Nath was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived. It does not appear anybody else was in the car with him, Young said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
