August is coming to an end, which means it's time for kids, teenagers and teachers to head back to the classroom.

I have compiled a list of when Whatcom County public school districts, colleges and private elementary, middle and high school start the 2011-12 school year. The first, first day of school, is Aug. 22 for Baker View Christian School students.

The first public school first day of school is Aug. 30 for Lynden School District students.
