Bellingham Slam guard Jacob Stevenson, the franchise's all-time leading scorer, has been listed among the best minor league basketball players in the United States by USbasket.com.
Stevenson, who was a standout at both Sehome High School and Western Washington University and has played for the Slam each season since the team was formed in 2005, was listed as an honorable mention selection by the website.
Stevenson joins Albany Legends forward Gordon Klaiber and Vancouver Volcanoes center Devin Uskoski as the only three players from the International Basketball League represented on the list. The remainder of the list includes players from five other minor basketball leagues in the United States, including the NBA Development League.
For the second straight season, Stevenson finished as the Slam's leading scorer, averaging 19.5 points per game. He helped lead Bellingham to the league's best regular season record at 14-5, before the team fell to eventual league champion Vancouver in the semifinals of the IBL playoffs on July 2.
