Goose Fat Cookies

Thomas Brakke of Bellingham says when he was a kid, his family would have a goose for Christmas dinner, and would save the fat to make these cookies.

GOOSE FAT COOKIES

Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup sugar

1 cup goose fat

1/2 cup margarine

3 eggs

41/2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup nutmeats

Directions

Combine ingredients to make dough.

Wrap dough in aluminum foil in a cylindrical shape and store in the freezer.

Slice dough, place on cookie sheet, and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
