PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Pioneers compete in meet

The Nooksack Valley cross country team competed at the Fort Steilacoom Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 18.

The Pioneers’ top boys’ runner was Mitch Beard who finished 69 th overall in a time of 17 minutes, 53.6 seconds. Also finished for the boys’ team were James Harper (93rd, 18:17.3), Trevor Parsons (135th, 18:49.0) and Forest Crouse (142nd, 18:52.0).

The Pioneers’ top girls’ runner was Natalie Vandiest who finished in 95th place in 22:55.9. Also placing for Nooksack Valley were Alex Parson (109th, 23:19.0), Jordan Harvey (115 th, 23:25.8) and Kelly Jackson (120 th, 23:30.1).

Shadle Park won the girls’ race while Lindbergh was the top boys’ team. Nooksack Valley didn’t field enough to record team points.
