Quarterback Cody Oaks and receiver Toby Seim hooked up for four scores as the Bellingham Blitz defeated the Everett Vikings 24-15 in a preseason game on Saturday, May 15, at Civic Stadium.
The Blitz, of the Professional Development Football League, fell behind 8-0 to start. But Bellingham rode the Oaks-Seim connection for the game's final 18 points.
Seim topped the century mark for receiving while scoring touchdowns of 15, 25, 30 and 10 yards. Oaks threw for 204 yards to go with his four touchdowns.
The Bellingham defense also stepped up in the second half, Blitz special teams coach Jim Darling said. DJ Butler snatched two interceptions to save the Blitz from potential scoring attempts by Everett, who play in the Northwest Football League.
Bellingham will play a home game against the Tacoma Invaders on 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Bulldogs Stadium in Mount Vernon.
