LYNDEN - Jennifer Maakad, 19, of Custer was crowned Miss Lynden Rodeo 2010 on Jan. 23 after a day of competition at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds.

The competition consisted of personal interviews, horsemanship and an evening pageant, said Hattie Ramerman, rodeo royalty director.

Maakad, a Lynden High School graduate and current Washington State University student, will represent the Lynden PRCA Rodeo in parades, rodeos and other events during her reign, Ramerman said.

Maakad will be replacing the 2009 Miss Lynden Rodeo, Hilary Zender, Ramerman said.

For more information or to schedule Maakad for an event, call the Northwest Washington Fair office at 354-4111.
