Bellingham-based online company Babynut.com, which provides natural and organic products and support for pregnant and adopting families, babies and toddlers, will shut down at the end of March.
In a press release, owners Saralee Sky and Jerry Kilgore said 2009 was a very difficult year, with sales down 30 percent. The business was founded in November 2003.
Products now at clearance prices include: organic and natural maternity and nursing clothes, baby and toddler clothes, books on pregnancy, adoption, natural childbirth and parenting, children's books and music, wooden toys and puzzles, puppets, gift baskets, baby carriers, body products, wellness products, astrology charts and clothing with astrological signs specially designed for Babynut.
Another special feature of the site is a free online and email newsletter, Nutsense!, with articles on parenting or childbirth, book reviews, a featured product and parenting tips. Those articles will continue on Sky's blog, http://babynut.blogspot.com.
