The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Seattle defensive end Darryl Tapp bit him during last year’s game at Seattle.

“Yeah, he bit me through my long sleeve that I was wearing,” Rodgers told the Journal Sentinel. “There wasn’t a whole lot of words spoken. I looked down and my arm was hurt and it felt like a bee sting. I was looking down and he was biting my arm, so I had to get his teeth off my shoulder.

“Luckily I was wearing a long sleeve, so I don’t know if he actually (broke the skin). I had a bruise for the rest of the season. Other than that, I was good.”

Asked about the incident, Tapp took his helmet out of his locker, which has a full cage and a plastic visor, and put it on.

“How can anybody bite somebody with a helmet on?” Tapp said. “I’ll let my reputation speak for itself.”

Extra points

Seattle receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh talked to reporters for the first time since attending former Cincinnati Bengals teammate Chris Henry’s funeral on Tuesday. Houshmandzadeh arrived back from Louisiana early Wednesday morning but still attended meetings and practice later in the day at the team’s practice facility. The 26-year-old Henry died Dec. 17 from injuries suffered when he fell from a moving truck driven by his fiancée, Loleini Tonga, after a dispute by the couple. “I thought it was really good,” Houshmandzadeh said about the service. “That was my fourth funeral, and I don’t think any of them are ever easy or light. But for the most part, it had its sad moments like any funeral, and then you had guys get up and kind of lighten the mood.” … LB Aaron Curry (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday and is doubtful for Sunday’s game. … WR Nate Burleson (ankle) is out of a walking boot but will not practice this week and is doubtful for Sunday’s game. … RB Julius Jones (rib) did not practice Wednesday but is expected to play on Sunday.
