Sherri attended Nooksack Valley High School, and graduated magna cum laude from Western Washington University with her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She’s currently the Communications Coordinator for the Gateway Pacific Terminal.

  Following an incredibly lazy honeymoon in Mexico, the couple have made their home in Bellingham.

  The Bellingham boys' basketball team led early but saw that lead slip away as it lost 60-53 against Seattle Christian in its first game of the Cloud 9 Sports Christmas Classic on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Lynden Christian High School.

  Bellingham's built a comfortable lead in the first quarter, but three consecutive turnovers in the second quarter led to easy baskets for Seattle Christian as it held a four-point halftime lead.

  Seattle Christian's Richard Jensen took over from there. He scored 15 second-half points as part of his game-high 24 total.

  LYNDEN CHRISTIAN - The Lynden Christian boys' basketball team may have gotten a couple of wins out of hosting the Cloud 9 Sports Christmas Tournament, but it sure didn't feel like a holiday to coach Roger De Boer.

  The Lyncs never trailed on Thursday, Dec. 29, but they had to work to earn a 57-41 victory over Seattle Christian on Thursday, Dec. 29. Isaac Reimer got his second double-double in as many nights with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lyncs to the win, but LC knows it can and must play better when it returns to Northwest Conference play next week.

  "We didn't find a flow during the first half last night (in a victory over Sumner), and we never really found one the entire game tonight," De Boer said. "I give credit to Seattle Christian for that tonight, because they did a good job of disrupting us, but we need to learn from these last two nights. We know we can play much better. The kids did a good job of battling, and we finally started to figure some things out in the second half."

  With the help of some pain medication, a cold patch and the coach's spare racket, Tanner Hansen and Erik Arntsen of the Ferndale boys' tennis team won three consecutive matches to take second place on Wednesday, Oct. 26, in the Class 3A Northwest District doubles tournament and secure a spot in the state tournament.

  Hansen and Arntsen defeated Meadowdale's Andrew Fijalka and Evan DeVries in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 to complete their storm through the consolation bracket and into the state tournament.

  "Tennis is a game of adjustments and they had to adjust to so many conditions," Ferndale coach Rudy Vendiola said in a phone interview. "It was incredible the way they were able to make those adjustments and come through with the win."
