Elliott elected president of Realtors' association

Don Elliott of John L. Scott Real Estate has been elected president of the Whatcom County Association of Realtors and will be installed at its annual banquet Jan. 8.

Elliott was honored as WCAR's Rookie of the Year in 2005. He has been serving this year as its vice president and as a director on the Washington Association of Realtors board.

Other WCAR officers for 2010 are: Ray Pelletti, Abby's Land and Homes, president-elect; Michele Boudreau, RE/MAX Whatcom County, secretary; Janet Armstrong, Peoples Bank, treasurer; Trudy Starkovich, John L. Scott Real Estate, treasurer-elect; and J.D. Merris, Keller Williams Realty, past-president.

The local directors for 2010 are Damian Pro and Rebecca Taylor of Windermere Real Estate, Jim Sands and Darin Stenvers of RE/MAX Whatcom County, Rozy Olson Stevens of Coldwell Banker Miller-Arnason, Boudreau, Armstrong, Starkovich and Merris.

The WCAR's state directors for 2010 are Ben Kinney of Keller Williams Realty, Mark Brown and Jon Soine of Windermere Real Estate and Pelletti, Elliott and Cheryl Ferrier of John L. Scott Real Estate.

OLSON JOINS BANNER BANK AS REAL ESTATE OFFICER

Tyler Olson has joined Banner Bank as a real estate loan officer.

In his new role he will be responsible for originating family residential real estate loans.

A lifelong Whatcom County resident, Olson has worked in the banking industry for the last eight years. Prior to joining Banner Bank, he served as real estate lender for Peoples Bank and as a real estate loan officer for The Bank of the Pacific. Olson received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington.

ST. FRANCIS CNA EDIE WINS AWARD

Certified nursing assistant Darol Edie of St. Francis of Bellingham is the first recipient of a new award program called Avastar.

The award was established by Avamere Corporation, the parent company of St. Francis and is presented on the basis of feedback from the entire staff of the facility.

Edie has worked at St. Francis for more than 23 years.

"Darol totally exemplifies the Avamere Mission Statement, 'To enhance the life of every person we serve,'" said St. Francis Administrator Tonja Myers.

Edie will be recognized at both the corporate and facility level for her accomplishments.

LODDER IS CERTIFIED DEALER FOR HUNTER DOUGLAS

Debby Lodder, owner of Edwards Drapery & Interiors, recently earned certification as a Hunter Douglas Professional Dealer, one of only five in Washington state.

Lodder completed more than 30 hours of classes that provided information on products, lifting systems, size maximums, fabric choices and Hunter Douglas. She also attended the NeoCon East trade show Oct. 28-29 in Baltimore to learn more about new products, design ideas and the latest advances in environmentally friendly fabrics.
