  As the 2011 Whatcom County election campaign enters its final week, former Lynden mayor Jack Louws leads State Sen. Doug Ericksen in fundraising in the battle to succeed Pete Kremen as Whatcom County executive.

We need people in office who can make decisions based on the environment, protection of farmlands and water quality, unbiased decisions for all.

  I am hoping you will vote for Barbara Brenner, Christina Maginnis, Pete Kremen and Jack Louws in November. I believe all of these people are honest, trustworthy and will do what is best for Whatcom County. Barbara has been a great asset to our County Council for many years. I know her personally and she will listen and then make a decision. But she isn't in office to help only her friends. The same for Pete Kremen and Jack Louws. Christina Maginnis will be a great addition to the council. I believe her opponent, Sam Crawford, has shown bias toward developers over and over, plus he makes a living off development.
