  The husband of a Pasco woman accused of shooting her mother last year in their west Pasco home was arrested in California by U.S. marshals.

  Todd Stuart was arrested on the deck of the USS Hornet, a decommissioned U.S. Navy aircraft carrier which is in permanent dock in the San Francisco Bay, said Deputy Joe Palmer, public affairs officer with the U.S. marshals in Northern California.

  Palmer told the Herald that Pasco police detectives flew down to the Bay Area today to look for Stuart.

  The husband of a Pasco murder suspect was arrested Tuesday in California for allegedly trying to help kill his mother-in-law last year.

  Todd Stuart, 48, was arrested for first-degree attempted murder while on the deck of a decommissioned aircraft carrier in the San Francisco Bay, said Deputy Joe Palmer, public affairs officer with the U.S. Marshals Service in Northern California.

  Palmer told the Herald that Pasco police detectives flew down to the Bay Area to look for Stuart and help in his capture. Oakland police also assisted marshals.

  A Blaine man who collected more than $3.8 million with a version of the Nigerian inheritance scam was sentenced to five years in prison and millions in restitution Friday, Dec. 9, in U.S. District Court in Seattle.

  Scott Alan Stuart, 51, convinced investors throughout the country to send him money so he could claim an inheritance from a bank in Canada, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

  He pleaded guilty last June to wire fraud and tax crimes. His exact restitution will be determined in the next two months.

  Photographs and diagrams found in the safe of a Pasco woman have led police to believe her son-in-law was trying to help kill her two weeks before she was fatally shot.

  Todd David Stuart is accused of positioning his mother-in-law, Judy Hebert, in the right spot in her garage so an 18-gallon bin of books would fall on her, according to documents supporting his arrest in the case.

  His wife, Tashia Stuart, was allegedly in the rafters waiting and pushed the box when her mother was in place.

  When an 18-gallon bin of books fell on her inside her Pasco garage, she took her own crime scene photographs and measurements and noted the incident on her calendar.

  The 58-year-old grandmother also started sharing her suspicions with others.
