The bride is the daughter of William and Cynthia Wilson of Shoreline, WA. The bridegroom is the son of Stephen and Sonya Merz of Union Gap, WA. Kristyn Young was maid of honor and Kyle Roosendaal was best man. Candlelighters were Melanie Merz and Gabrielle Merz. Ushers were Christopher Fitchette, Gurband Mann and John Stewart. Both the bride and bridegroom graduated from Western Washington University. Mrs. Merz is currently employed by Christ Lutheran Church as the choir director and is a voice teacher. Mr. Merz is currently employed at Olive Garden and attending on-line classes at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. Following a wedding trip to the San Juans, the couple are at home in Bellingham.

  ELLENSBURG - Guard Corinn Waltrip and forward Trishi Williams combined for 42 points as Western Washington University defeated arch-rival Central Washington University 85-71 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball game Thursday, Jan. 19, on the CWU campus.

  The game started nearly one hour late as the arrival of the officiating crew was hampered because of poor weather conditions.

  WWU improved to 12-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play. Waltrip had 22 points and Williams 20, 15 of those in the second half. Guard Kristin Schramm added 15 points for the Vikings.

  Point guard Corinn Waltrip scored a game-high 17 points and forward Kristin Schramm had 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Western Washington University defeated host San Francisco State University, 64-50, in first-day action Friday, Nov. 11, at the California Collegiate Athletic Association/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Shootout in San Francisco.

  It was the season opener for both schools.

  SFSU was led by the 14 points of reserve Candyce Matthews.
