This double-dammed reservoir perched above Highway 20 just west of Okanogan offers good spring fishing for rainbows plus hot summer day angling on sunfish for the kids.

Angler notes: Camping and reservoir shore access is good. Leader is subject to significant draw-downs by the fall.

Open water: 159 acres.

Season: Last Saturday in April to October 31.

Angling quarry here: Rainbows, crappie, bluegill and brown trout.

Stocking for 2008: 3,000 catchable rainbows and 5,096 brown trout fry.

Special rules: Season only, otherwise statewide size and bag limits apply.

Boat launch: A gravel ramp

Getting there: Take Highway 20 east from Twisp through the Loup-Loup and just before entering the Okanogan River valley proper, turn left on Leader Lake Road.
