Campbell is a mixed stock lake of longstanding note, now with an added trout kicker in form of triploids rainbows. Anglers will find hatchery-reared lunker rainbows now among its obliging largemouth bass and yellow perch. The bass are big enough here to attract tournament attention.
Season: Year-round.
Angler amenities: Even on the opener, Campbell is not heavily fished, so there should be plenty of room. Eagle watching is a premium here especially if your throwbacks don't revive and go deep.
Surface area: 410 acres.
Stocking for 2008: 608 triploid rainbows.
In the catch: Cutthroat, rainbows, largemouth bass, yellow perch and brown bullheads.
Special rules: Crappie minimum size 9 inches, 10 crappie per day limit, otherwise, statewide size and bag limits apply.
Boat launch: WDFW on Campbell Lake Road.
Getting there: Take Interstate 5 south to Highway 20 in Burlington. Drive west on Highway 20 to Sharp's Corner, then south toward Oak Harbor. Campbell will be the first lake to appear about a mile and a half from Sharp's.
