OVERVIEW
With more than 2,300 residents, Geneva is a popular residential haven on the west shore of Lake Whatcom just east of Bellingham. Its a dense neighborhood kept beautiful by wraparound views of the lake and of forested foothills to the east.
Geneva is anchored by a few local institutions, notably an elementary school, Whatcom Hills Waldorf School, a fire station for Whatcom Fire District No. 2, and The Firs, a Christian conference center with a popular day camp across the street and with Camp Firwood, a summer youth camp, on the lake just south of Sudden Valley.
Shops, businesses and public access to the lake are minutes away in Bellingham.
HISTORY
The Firs, a Christian conference center at 4605 Cable St., was founded in the 1920s by Otis and Julia Whipple. A son, Grant Whipple, later became director and arranged the purchase of 80 acres on Lake Whatcom in 1955 to create Camp Firwood, a popular summer camp for youths and teens.

OVERVIEW
I like the sense of neighborhood here. Its a safe place to walk and run and be outside. The outdoor and lake recreation is right around the neighborhood, too.
