OVERVIEW
Mount Baker is a large, fast-growing and multifaceted neighborhood in northeast Bellingham, with Sunset Drive splitting the area into segments north and south.
On the south side, high-elevation homes and townhouses look over the city and Bellingham Bay from atop Barkley Boulevard.
At the foot of the hill sits Barkley Village, a 250-acre development with a commercial district, office and medical buildings, light industry, and condominium buildings.
North of Sunset Drive are pockets of residential development scattered among drive-by businesses and industrial areas along Hannegan Road, East Bakerview Road and Irongate Road.
HISTORY
Go-ahead for the hundreds of homes high on north Alabama Hill was given in 1991 when the city of Bellingham approved a funding district to finance construction of Barkley Boulevard from Britton Road on the east to Woburn Street on the west.

QUOTE
I live in Barkley Village, so Im five minutes from the hospital, eight minutes from Bellis Fair and within walking distance of the post office and banks, investment brokers, Haggen grocery and all the little shops in between.
