Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years for his elaborate ponzi scheme, but I believe there is something similar to a ponzi scheme in Washington, D.C., that would make Madoff blush.
First, Congress had to pass the $787 billion stimulus bill quickly or unemployment might reach 8 percent. Well, it passed and unemployment is 9.4 percent and rising.
Then the president said, "I have no interest in running companies." But his administration, after bailout mania, is now calling the shots at AIG, Chrysler, GM, etc.
Next, the House passed a massive cap and trade bill, claiming it will create, in Speaker Nancy Pelosi's words, "jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs." Yeah, right.
And now, the president is claiming that his health care initiative will cover 47 million more people while costing less and providing better care. Wow, maybe next he can feed 5,000 with a loaf of bread and two fish.
I believe we will receive a sentence for this ponzi scheme: 150 years of hard labor and a lower standard of living for generations. Maybe President Obama should command his minions at GM to produce a fleet of turnip trucks that the public can fall off of.
Wake up! Your future is being spent at an exponential rate.
