Sarah Palin, who "has only been doing this for like five weeks now" and about whom we know next to nothing, is going around the country asking "Who is Barak Obama?" And people are eating it up. I don't get it.
Obama has been a public figure for years, and a presidential candidate for over a year and a half, which is nearly as long as Sarah Palin has held an office higher than mayor of a small city. We know way more about Obama than we do about Palin.
What I really don't get is how she can get away with saying in the VP debate that paying taxes is not patriotic. Who is going to pay for her son's body armor in Iraq? How can you sport a "Support Our Troops" bumper sticker and think it's not patriotic to pay taxes? What kind of support is that? Do she and her supporters think it is more patriotic to wave a flag than to pay taxes?
I believe John McCain used very bad judgment to nominate Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential running mate, and the RNC used even worse judgement accepting her. I shudder to think about this country if she ever ends up in the White House.
