Says Congress to blame for economic woes

Punish the bums in Congress. This time, throw out the liberals.

About this time two years ago, large numbers of Americans punished the Republican Party. This happened because of the U.S. failure to gain victory in Iraq and "pork" spending by Congress. Since that time, the McCain "surge" has brought significant gains in the war on terror and big-time spending Republicans have been chastised. The liberal wing of the Democrat Party took over Congress.

I believe this same Pelosi wing of the Democrat Party, however, has brought us a much greater disaster. Excessive political use of the Community Reinvestment Act has extended mortgage credit into the billions of dollars for bad loans. I see thee chief trigger for our current financial crisis as the misuse of Fannie Mae mortgage funds. Sen. Dodd, Sen. Obama and Rep. Frank keep coming up in the news negatively in connection with the misuse of Fannie Mae dollars. When this scandal is investigated, if it ever is, I believe we will discover government policies to encourage private greed and political corruption. And we will discover that the rush job of the bailout whitewashed over the causes.
