The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission has extended the period of public comment on the proposed sale of Puget Sound Energy to Australian and Canadian entities. Several parties to this case have proposed changes to the agreement, but the ownership transfer would still occur. Electricity customers have the right to make new comments to the deciding commissioners until August 26.
If you do not like the idea of an Australian conglomerate whose primary interest is profit, not providing essential electricity service, determining your electric rates and quality of service, e-mail your opinion to the commission at www.utc.wa.gov, or write to Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, Attn: CPC, P.O. Box 47250, Olympia, WA, 98504.
