closeWhatcom, Skagit and San Juan County voters face a tough decision in this year's 40th District Senate race. With several strong candidates to choose from, one tops my list: Kevin Ranker. Ranker demonstrates the vision, commitment and intelligence to provide the creative and effective leadership needed in these challenging times.
While rightly identified as an environmentalist, Ranker is pragmatic, not dogmatic.
Ranker explains positions in a manner that brings factions together, recognizing that the best solutions are economically, socially and environmentally preferable. With good analysis done and proper solutions identified, challenges need not be either/or situations.
Ranker's background demonstrates that he has the skills to deliver for us in Olympia.
As our senator, he will be positioned to offer key help in the redevelopment of our waterfront. Ranker's strong background on environmental issues provides him with a strong understanding of the challenges we face in Lake Whatcom, as well as insights about how to create effective legislation to mitigate these going forward.
Having discussed these and other issues with Ranker at length, I am convinced he is the best choice as our 40th District Senator. Please join me in supporting him in the primary election now at hand.
