I support Doug Shepherd for Superior Court Judge because he clearly has the knowledge, experience and love of the law required for that position:
- 29 years in the courtroom researching rules of evidence, statutes and relevant case law.
- Substantial experience with contract law, securities law, commercial law, debtor/creditor law and family law.
- Graduated from law school cum laude. He had to love what he was doing.
- Commitment to decide cases on the facts and law presented by both parties, not in chambers with one party present.
- Respect for everyone in his courtroom.
- Commitment to listen to all parties.
- Commitment to serve in the Superior Court, not the Teen Court, Drug Court or divorce mediation. Those functions were removed from the Superior Court because a specialized setting is more suitable; not because they are less important.
In my opinion incumbent judge Chuck Snyder lacks the legal knowledge and ability to comprehend complex legal issues affecting the business community.
We need the person best qualified for the Superior Court, Doug Shepherd.
