I am very frustrated with a few select drivers in the Birch Bay area.

Even though I too find 20 mph speed limit to be slow in certain areas of Birch Bay, I follow the 20 mph zone. Unfortunately, there are those that must think they are above the law and do not follow the posted signs or road markings.

I have been passed in the 20 mph zone just past the new curve.

The road markings in that area are a double solid yellow line, indicating a �no passing zone,� but for some reason cars choose to ignore the markings and speed limit and zoom past me continuing on their way.

I document the plate of the speeding car, phone it into the Whatcom County Sherriff�s Traffic Info Line, and then hope that the authorities will let the drivers know someone has reported their illegal act.

I encourage more residents to report offenders as well to try and curb the drivers that think the rules of the road do not apply to them.

I am hoping that if more people start reporting these dangerous driverst we can make them realize that laws do apply to all of us.
