Herald policy


The Bellingham Herald publishes signed letters of no more than 200 words. All letters to the editor are subject to editing. Letters are verified. You must include a phone number where you can be reached between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Writers are limited to one letter a month.

The Herald does not print letters that focus on personal matters or promote a particular business.

All opinion submissions become the property of The Bellingham Herald.

Everyone should see the DVD “Sicko.” The documentary compares health care in the U.S. (37th in the world) with Canada, England, France and Cuba on the basis of infant mortality, access to care, cost, prescription cost, longevity, wait time for care, etc.

It makes you wonder if we have the best system.
