What kind of insanity brings us to selling our business to people in other countries, especially utilities?
The deal being proposed by Puget Sound Energy should be stopped in its tracks. What a controlling factor in our economy and even our state and national defense.
We seem to do anything for a dollar and the world fully realizes this.
We exported our jobs so big business could make a few more dollars. Sure at first it seems to be a good deal but then it turns on us.
I well remember when self-serve gas first came into our area. Everyone flocked to the guy who was maybe a penny or two less. They did their own thing but gave up the service.
This was followed by many jobs lost, especially for young people just starting out or going to school.
After that people were running around on low tires, low oil, maybe low coolant and bad belts or hoses, just to mention a few items. All these things increased their out-of-pocket expense well beyond any savings.
And finally the oil companies then increased cost anyway — savings gone.
Wake up, America. Smell the roses.
