I served for 16 years, active and reserve, in the United States Marine Corps. During that time I spent four years recruiting in Yakima. Never during that time did I recruit a convicted felon.
Now I read in the paper where individuals convicted of manslaughter and sex crimes are being accepted into the Marine Corps. Is this what Iraq has brought us to? Criminals fighting our wars? I am appalled and ashamed of what this country is coming to.
Why not hire mercenaries to fight our wars and disband our military?
