Xavier Dailly, a graduate of Burlington-Edison High School, is transferring from Washington State University and will play men's golf at Western Washington University this fall. Making that announcement was Viking coach Steve Card.
Dailly, 21, had a 76.1 scoring average this past season as a sophomore for the Cougars. He lettered two years and was twice a WSU Academic All-Excellence award winner. Dailly, who is majoring in finance, maintained a 3.85 grade point average (4.0 scale) at WSU.
The 5-foot-10 Dailly averaged 76.4 strokes as a freshman, competing in the PAC-10 Championships. He was a redshirt the previous season.
At Burlington-Edison, Dailly was a four-time, first-team Northwest League all-star. He qualified for the Class 3A state tournament as a freshman and placed among the top 15 at state as a junior, being the Tigers' team captain as a junior and senior.
Dailly, who tied for ninth at the 2007 Pacific Northwest Golf Association Men's Amateur, was valedictorian of his senior class and Associated Student Body President.
