The driver accused of causing a deadly collision on Blaine Road in December has died from her injuries.
Elyssa Birman, 28, spent approximately two months in St. Joseph Hospital after her car collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Yvonne Schaff of Blaine on Dec. 18.
Schaff, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ann Stromberg, legal assistant at the Whatcom County Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed Tuesday that Birman died of her injuries, closing the vehicular homicide case.
