GLACIER - Work crews will close one lane of a Nooksack River bridge near Glacier beginning Wednesday, July 8, for about three months.
Crews will restrict one lane of traffic on the bridge, which is on Mount Baker Highway, to work on needed repairs, said Bronlea Mishler, Department of Transportation spokeswoman.
Built in 1931, the bridge needs to be sanded down, repaired and repainted every few years to help preserve the structure, Mishler said.
A temporary traffic signal will be installed to direct drivers over the bridge. Drivers can expect minor delays during this time.
