BELLINGHAM - Don't chuck your food and yard waste into the trash. Learn how to compost it instead during two free classes in July.

Volunteers from the Master Composter/Recycler program will conduct the sessions on home composting on two Wednesdays this month, July 8 and 22.

Classes begin at 6 p.m. at the compost demonstration site in the Clean Green Transfer Station at Lakeway Drive and Woburn Street. All experience levels are welcome.

People can sign up by contacting WSU Whatcom County Extension at 676-6736 or sending an e-mail to joycej@wsu.edu.

For more details, go online to http://whatcom.wsu.edu and click on "composting" from the menu on the left.

Reach KIE RELYEA at kie.relyea@bellinghamherald.com or call 715-2234.
