LYNDEN - The commercial inspection lane at the Lynden border crossing will be closed Monday, July 6, to Friday, July 17, while a new bi-level inspection booth is installed.

Commercial traffic will be rerouted to the Sumas or Pacific Highway crossings during the closure, said Ross Buffington, spokesman for the U.S. General Services Administration.

The new booth will allow inspections of both passenger and commercial vehicles. It is designed to improve traffic flow during peak summer periods, as well as during the World Police and Fire Games at the end of July and the Winter Olympics in February 2010, Buffington said.
