Bellingham woman wins $100,000 in state lottery

BELLINGHAM - For one Bellingham woman, the 4th of July will now be known as financial independence day.
E. Cook, who goes by her first initial, won $100,000 on a Washington Lottery Hit 5 ticket. Cook asked not to be interviewed, but a Lottery press release said she had no plans for the money.
Cook bought the ticket at the 7-Eleven at 2400 Alabama St., which will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
