The Washington State Patrol wants to find a driver who left the scene of a rear-end collision east of Deming Thursday, May 28.
A man in a green Mazda pickup truck with a canopy hit a car that cut in front of him at the intersection of Highway 9 and Mount Baker Highway but left the scene of the 9 a.m. crash, Trooper Mark Francis said.
Troy Erwin of Sedro-Woolley drove the car that was hit by the pickup. Erwin was headed north on Highway 9 and turned west onto Mount Baker Highway into the path of the pickup, which had the right of way, Francis said.
Erwin will be cited with failing to yield to the right of way, but troopers want to talk to the second driver as part of their investigation, Francis said.
Erwin and passenger Shirley Erwin suffered minor injuries. The pickup truck was last seen headed west on Mount Baker Highway. Anyone with information regarding its whereabouts should call (360) 658-2588.
