A 12-year-old boy was injured Saturday morning, May 2, when an alleged drunken driver collided with the car he was in on North Terrace Avenue in the Geneva area.
The boy, identified by the Washington State Patrol as McKenzie Sinclair of Sudden Valley, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital.
The extent of his injuries was unavailable, but he was treated at the hospital and released, a hospital spokesman said.
The boy and his mother, Kelly Sinclair, were heading west in their car on North Terrace Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday when a car going east and driven by Debbi D. Hamlin, 46, of Bellingham crossed the centerline and caused the collision, according to the State Patrol.
Kelly Sinclair and Hamlin were not injured.
Hamlin was allegedly driving under the influence and was booked into the Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault, according to the State Patrol.
