Tjoelker crowned Whatcom County Dairy Ambassador

Whatcom County's newest Dairy Ambassador was crowned at a banquet and coronation Friday, March 27.

Amber Tjoelker, a 17-year-old Custer resident and Lynden Christian High School junior, took home the title as well as the Miss Congeniality Award. Tjoelker's duties as Dairy Ambassador will be to educate and inform people throughout Whatcom County about dairy products and the dairy industry.

The Whatcom County Dairy Ambassador Program began in 1956 and is sponsored by the Whatcom County Dairy Women, which also handed out nearly $5,000 in scholarships to local students Friday night.
