CUSTER - A fund has been set up to help a Custer family who lost most of their possessions in a house fire Monday, March 2.

The Whitehead family lost their rented home on Birch Bay-Lynden Road after a fire broke out on the porch and quickly spread. The family and their 15-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son are now staying in the Ferndale Super 8 motel with the help of the Red Cross. Cousin Kim Rivas said they lost nearly everything in the blaze.

Those interested in donating to the Whitehead family can go to any Washington branch of Bank of America and ask to donate to the Whitehead Family Fund.
