Whatcom County is under a flood watch beginning Tuesday evening, Jan. 6, until Friday afternoon, Jan. 9, according to the National Weather Service.
A warm-weather system will hit Western Washington for two days, starting Tuesday afternoon, and it will likely bring with it heavy rains.
Those who live near rivers should prepare for flooding, as up to 6 inches of rain are predicted for coastal areas, with 1 to 2 inches predicted for northern lowlands.
The rains should slow by Friday, with a relatively dry day expected Saturday.
