BELLINGHAM - A Vietnam War movie with local ties will make its debut 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at Mount Baker Theatre.

The movie, "21 and a Wake-Up," follows nurses, doctors, soldiers and journalists for four days in Vietnam as America begins reducing its forces in the war-torn country. The movie's concept was developed by Dr. Marvin Wayne of Bellingham, who was a trauma surgeon during the war.

The cast includes Faye Dunaway, Danica McKellar (TV's "The Wonder Years") and Tom Sizemore, and director Chris McIntyre is using showings in Bellingham and other cities to perfect the movie before it opens in theaters across the country in February.

The Bellingham showing is free, but RSVP is required by sending an e-mail to twentyonewakeup@aol.com by Friday, Jan. 2.
