BELLINGHAM — A fire broke out in a two-story wood frame home at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in the 3600 block of West Rusley Drive.
There was extensive smoke and heat damage throughout the house, said Andy Day, Bellingham assistant fire chief. He said officials were trying to determine where the fire started.
Kyle Baker, who lives across the street, saw smoke billowing from the house at about 7:45 a.m.
“(The smoke) was even coming through the shingles on the roof,” he said.
The residents were not home at the time, and the cause was under investigation Thursday.
