AAA in Bellingham accepting soap and shampoo for the needy

BELLINGHAM - AAA Washington is launching its new "Soap for Hope" drive to collect toiletries for the needy, and items can be dropped off at its Bellingham office, 4280 Meridian St., Suite 106.

The campaign, which kicked off Wednesday, Nov. 12, continues through the end of the year.

Donations made in Bellingham will benefit Lydia Place, a transitional shelter for homeless women and children.

"Soap for Hope" encourages donation of unopened shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, toothpaste and deodorant. Travel-sized toiletries from hotels and full-sized items are being accepted.

Drop items at all AAA locations 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
