BELLINGHAM - Whatcom County urologists will offer free prostate screenings Nov. 15 at St. Joseph Cancer Center.
The exams are for men ages 50 to 75. They're also available beginning at age 40 for black men, who are at higher risk of developing prostate cancer, and men with a family history of prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men, behind lung cancer.
Screenings, which begin at 8 a.m., will include a blood test and rectal exam.
Pre-registration is required for the 14th annual Community Prostate Health Screening. Sign up by calling 738-6701.
Usually about 200 men are screened.
